Kathrine Lemke Waste

Joie De Vivre
With a blue tablecloth from Provence, an armload of ranunculus from the farmer’s market and a clay vase of Van Gogh yellow, I set out to make a still life composition that was anything but. Primary colors, challenging surfaces, and sunlight moving in, out and around, hold the viewer’s eye so that (with a nod to Wordsworth) with the deep power of joy, we see into the life of things.
